We researched 1,042 business and commercial litigation keywords in Semrush, scored 24 practice areas by value and difficulty, and turned it into a 91-page sitemap with a build order. Use it to plan your site, or see exactly where your firm is missing.
Business owners don't search as often as accident victims, but each case is worth far more, and the clicks are priced that way. Most of the money terms here have a keyword difficulty under 20. A firm that builds a real page for each type of dispute can outrank larger firms that rely on one generic litigation page.
Key takeaways

01
The hub term is valuable and easy
'Business litigation attorney' gets 9,900 searches a month at $8.49 a click with a KD of just 10. The hub page covers about 46,000 searches across its keywords, worth roughly $376,000 a month in ad spend.
02
Intellectual property and franchise fights pay the most
'Trademark infringement lawyer' runs $11.44 a click and 'franchise litigation attorney' $11.76, both with KD under 20. 'Copyright infringement lawyer' adds 1,300 searches at $6.58. These are small pages with big cases behind them.
03
The core dispute pages are wide open
'Breach of contract lawyer' (1,900 searches, KD 7), 'partnership dispute lawyer' (720, KD 5), 'construction defect lawyer' (1,300, KD 9) and 'mechanics lien attorney' (880, KD 5) are all very winnable for a focused site.
04
Owner and shareholder fights are high value
'Shareholder dispute lawyer' runs $7.66 a click at KD 5, and the partnership disputes page averages $7.39 at KD 4, the easiest money page in the plan. When owners fall out, there's usually a lot at stake.
05
Florida terms set you apart
Construction liens under Chapter 713, FDUTPA claims, civil theft and Florida LLC dissolution are state-specific topics. 'How to dissolve an LLC in Florida' alone gets 720 searches a month, and few litigation firms build pages for any of them.
06
Legal doctrines pull in big research traffic
'Quantum meruit' gets 5,400 searches a month, 'unjust enrichment' 4,400 and 'tortious interference' 8,100. Business owners and their accountants look these up when a deal goes wrong, and 46 supporting guides link that traffic back to the money pages.

Turn the map into a strategy
Howtousethisbusinesslitigationkeywordmap
01
Build the P1 pages first
The hub, breach of contract, construction defects, non-competes, partnership disputes, trademark and copyright, collections, liens, business fraud and fiduciary duty carry most of the hiring intent. Get those live and strong before anything else.
02
Give each type of dispute its own page
A business owner with a partner dispute won't hire a firm whose site only says 'commercial litigation.' Separate pages for contracts, partnerships, non-competes and construction match how owners actually search, and each one can rank on its own.
03
Use doctrine pages to catch research traffic
Unjust enrichment, quantum meruit, tortious interference and promissory estoppel get thousands of searches. Explain each one plainly, then link to the dispute page where it usually comes up, like breach of contract or partnership disputes.
04
Link in the same shape as the sitemap
Guides link up to their practice-area page, and practice-area pages link up to the hub. Related disputes should link to each other: non-competes to trade secrets, partnership disputes to fiduciary duty, construction defects to liens.
05
Answer the cost question directly
Business owners worry about fees. 'Business contingency litigation attorney' gets 210 searches a month and 'business contingent litigation attorney' 260. A clear page on fee structures, including when contingency makes sense, builds trust and catches those searches.
Avoid these traps
4commonmistakeswithbusinesslitigationkeywords
Relying on one generic litigation page
Most firms have a single 'business litigation' page listing every type of case. It can't rank for 'breach of contract lawyer,' 'non-compete attorney' and 'construction defect lawyer' at once. Dedicated pages win those searches easily at these difficulty levels.
Chasing big informational terms as money pages
The non-compete page covers about 24,000 searches a month, but at $1.61 a click and KD 34, because most people searching want to know whether their own non-compete is enforceable. Answer those questions, and keep the page focused on employers and employees ready to act.
Writing generic, national content
Business disputes run on state law. Florida has Chapter 713 liens, FDUTPA, civil theft with treble damages and its own rules on restrictive covenants. Pages that use those terms rank better and sound like a firm that actually tries these cases.
Building industry pages too early
Pages like 'hospitality litigation attorney' have almost no search volume. Mention the industries you serve on the hub instead, and spend the effort on the dispute pages people actually search for.

A 91-page plan is a lot to build between trials
Business clients are choosing who to trust with their company, and they check credentials carefully. Turning this map into ranking pages means writing practice-area pages that read like an experienced litigator wrote them, building guides that actually explain the law, linking it all together, and keeping your Google Business Profile and reviews in step.
That's the work we do for litigation firms, tracked to real calls and consult requests rather than traffic. If you'd rather spend your time on cases than building pages, we can take it from here.
Every keyword, volume, difficulty score and CPC comes from Semrush's U.S. database, pulled in October 2026 from 35 seed keywords across 24 planned practice-area pages. AI was used only to group keywords into pages and suggest structure; any keyword it suggested that wasn't in the Semrush data was thrown out.
This map lands on 91: one business litigation hub, 44 practice-area and sub-pages, and 46 supporting guides. You don't need all of them on day one. Start with the P1 pages, like the hub, breach of contract, partnership disputes, non-competes and construction defects, then add the rest in the build order.
Look for low difficulty with real hiring intent. 'Partnership dispute lawyer' (KD 5), 'shareholder dispute lawyer' (KD 5), 'mechanics lien attorney' (KD 5), 'breach of contract lawyer' (KD 7) and 'construction defect lawyer' (KD 9) are all very winnable. Even the hub term, 'business litigation attorney,' has a KD of only 10.
Because the cases are worth a lot. A single contract, partnership or IP dispute can involve hundreds of thousands of dollars, so firms bid $8 to $12 a click for terms like 'business litigation attorney' and 'trademark infringement lawyer.' Ranking organically for those terms saves that spend every month.
The structure does. Contract, partnership, non-compete, trademark and fraud pages apply everywhere. Some pages are Florida-specific, like Chapter 713 construction liens, FDUTPA, civil theft and Florida LLC dissolution, so swap in your own state's statutes and procedures.
Difficulty is low across most of this map, so focused pages can start moving in a few months. Broader terms like 'business litigation lawyer' and the big doctrine pages take longer, often 6 to 12 months of consistent work. Nobody honest can promise a specific ranking or date.
Keyword data is from Semrush's U.S. database as of October 2026. Volume, difficulty and CPC are directional and shift over time. Check them again before building a campaign around any single term.
